A slow gait took the femme across the sun warmed blacktop. Her step was rather aimless, though she knew where she was headed. She headed the same way quite a bit these days. Rae seemed to have calmed down a bit, and found herself quite often sitting on the low wall on the outskirt of the small town of Brookhaven. This wasn't because she was afraid to fight, or that she hated fights. This was merely due to the fact that she didn't enjoy fights. She had been known to get into quite a few of them back home... One of her reasons for being in Brookhaven. The slim outline of an alleyway could barely be seen by her opticals, but she knew what one it was. The brick wall next to her now, was high, at least too high to climb. In the thin alley that peaked into view over the horizon, had a wall that was easily climbable.
Not long after the sight of the alleyway escaped the world of the elusive, Rae found herself swinging herself gently onto the wall. Her back faced the buildings that made up the other barrier of the alleyway, and her eyes stared vacantly at the empty land beyond the wall. I'm a little early... She thought, as she stared. She made a point to come to this alley around sunset, as she had always lived in a very crowded, skyscraping town, where empty spaces like the one beyond Brookhaven's border didn't exist. She found it somewhat refreshing to see the orange, and golden hues take over nearly every other. She, however, would not even think of admitting something like that to another human being. Rae was rather withdrawn. She liked having others think she was tough, and enjoyed fights... When in reality, she just wanted to get away from it all every now and again.
Pale, slim fingers ran through her rather short, raven hair. The sun began to sink slowly behind the horizon. A faint look of peacefulness posessed the femora's features, something that if someone else was around, would never be seen. She absent-mindedly kicked her legs gently, and rythmically, to no apparent rythym...

Half a cigarette met parched lips as Brett strolled down the alleyway. Only having been at Brookhaven for one day he didn't know his way around yet. The soft steps of his large DCs almost seemed to echoe in the quiet. He was almost excited to be at this school, although he would never admitt it. It gave him the fresh new start he desperately needed. His unruly behave had sent him into a down spiral, sex, drugs, and many other things most people would never even consider doing had truly ruined his life. Although he was never ready to fully give anything up he hoped the school might socialize him with other kids in his position...

The faint smell of cigarette smoke drifted past the fem's nose. There must be someone coming... She quickly shifted her position, and swung her legs to the other side of the wall. She put her hands on the wall, and let herself slide down, until her feet hit the floor. Her back continued sliding down the wall, until she was seated, her back leaning on the wall. She crossed her arms, and clenched bits of her jacket's sleeves tightly in her palms. Though she wasn't even certain if this person was even heading her direction, or simply strolling past, she did not want to be caught staring vacantly, and completely off guard, at something as soft as a sunset. Instead, she kept a rather intent eye on the alleyway to her left and right. A hopeless sigh was given as the femme was rather pessimistic, and within her very first few moments of waiting, could see no one. She had been in this town just long enough to know where everything was, but had not really come across many people her age and actually socialized with them. Where she came from, she only ever talked with a very thin string of people, and that wasn't often. With that amount of time without talking to anyone, and her whole life not talking to many people, her social skills were rather rusty, and definately needed some polishing...

As the night grew darker the temperature became cooler and shrugging his jacket higher up his shoulders he looked around. The butt of the cigarette burned and illuminated his face as he took long drags. Searching the alley with wary eyes he spotted the girl, slumped against the wall and wondered if approaching her would be a good idea. He wasn't really a stranger friendly guy. Throwing his dying cigarette on the ground he stomped it out and lit up a joint instead. He found a spot on the wall a little bit a ways from the girl but still within seeing distance and with one smooth motion sat up on the wall. Slumping over a bit he continued to take drags from the new joint nevering looking to the girl but instead at the dying sun...

As the sight of the young male grew more and more apparent, Rae diverted her eyes straight forward, hoping not to draw any attention, at least not yet... Naturally, the smell of smoke grew stronger, as he came closer. The femme embraced her legs, and rested her forehead on her knees. Smoking was one of the things she had tried to escape, and so far, had gotten a ways away from it... However, parts of her still wanted to turn around, and run back. A small fluster of pink rushed to her face as she thought of asking him to stop. She couldn't say that... Especially not to someone she didn't know. Her mind was quickly changed when she peeked up. Is that a joint...? Ah, now she really felt like running back. Part of her wanted to give in, yet the other half of her told her no...
"Do you mind...?" Her tone was surprisingly rude for how nervous she had been previously. She didn't want to get back into those habbits, no, not ever. If she could stay away from them, perhaps it would help get her back home... Yeah right...

"Sorry," he kind of mumbled standing up on the wall and walking downwind a ways. Brett hated to be rude to strangers. A little shocked he sat down again on the wall, she was still within eyeing distance but far enough to not be able to smell the smoke. Watching the sun finally go away he occasionally looked over to her without making it too obvious. The night was pitch black but the joint served as a dim light. He made no effort to leave but instead sat on the wall and stared off into the distance...
